Can't get this to work with my 2008 MacBook Pro - System profiler sees it, but I can't use it in any flight sims. PC and Xbox work flawlessly with it though. Mac compatibility would have earned this stick five stars.

I bought this fancier than planned joystick as a treat to my self for 3 weeks of not smoking what a mistake you have to download a 211MB file plus a driver to "make it work" when you install only about 40MB ends up on your HD.This device is NOT PLUG AND PLAY!!!! despite removing and reloading the device and the download several times countless trips to the editor never has the twist rudder or either throttle ever worked. the vendor refuses to take it back because I opened it and loaded the software(downloaded not sealed) to discover it did not work so i am out the price and shipping,i will replace it with the Logictek 3D I had planned to buy in the first place. i had one before it is plug and play and all its functions worked right out of the box if you want happy hassle free flying with a joystick avoid this one go with logicteck .and if you want a reliable seller that backs its products avoid Antonline stick with products that come str8 from amazon.

Does what it's advertised to do. I have not used it with the XBOX 360 yet so can't comment on that. I'M using it in Flight Simulator X in Vista 32 bit and had to update the driver which I did through the device manager after letting Vista recognize it. I assigned the axis and buttons through FSX with no problems. Everything works OK in FSX except the trigger will not control the brakes. FSX views it as an axis instead of a button so there is no way to assign it.I have a feeling it will work great with the XBOX 360.

This is a lightweight control but very well balanced. You need to put it at a level where your arm remains horizontal or below. It is calibrated very well out of factory but I doubt that would last over a few years of use.



It works just like that with MS Flight Sim X Deluxe. I did not have to install Saitek driver for it. Probably I would get more options to reassign the buttons with Saitek app but haven't tried that yet. By the way, this is on Windows 7 RC Build 7100.

 "Good, durable joystick with glitched software" 2009-08-22

I got this joystick a few years ago to replace a broken gamepad. It has served me well though the years and continues to be useful in a variety of games, flight games especially. The twist function is far from gimmicky - it is crucial for flight games and space shooters, where you have to both turn and rotate your craft (doing barrels rolls in a spaceship makes you harder to hit).



The buttons have lost some of their tactile feedback over the years, but it still works quite well. The layout of the joystick is quite nice for using it in tandem with the keyboard, and the base has just enough weight to keep it from moving when you slam the joystick forward.



There are a couple of complaints. One is the positioning of the throttle. Don't get me wrong - the throttle is great. But you will have to take your hands off of the keyboard to use it, which translates into a split second of not using keyboard controls (say, strafing) while you adjust your speed. The other is the software that comes with the game itself - it was the cause of the 'broken gamepad' (also made by logitech). Fortunately, the joystick works without the software, and when I uninstalled the software, everything worked perfectly again. On a related note, you can download a 'clear calibration utility' from the website, but it didn't work for me.



I plan on replacing this stick with the newer, cooler-looking Thrustmaster T-flight Hotas Stick. But if that doesn't work for some reason, I am going back to this joystick for sure.

I bought this joystick, along with Flight Simulator X, after I attended a summer camp at a local museum and realized how much flight sims were. After searching Amazon, I found the joystick and throttle set they used: the Thrustmaster Cougar, and it cost a whopping $186. Needless to say, I went with the Logitech joystick. I'm quite impressed with it. The buttons are very 'clicky', and it does feel a little cheap, but you get what you pay for. Also, I wish the throttle had more friction, but it's not a big problem. Flight Simulator X auto-configured it when I plugged it in, no drivers required. Highly recommended if you want a good, cheap joystick.



Also, props to Amazon for getting it here so fast. I ordered it Sunday and it got here early on Tuesday. And that isn't with Two-Day Shipping, that's with FREE Super Saver Shipping. :D

I bought this controller and am quite pleased with it's reaction time and multiple button assignment. I mostly play racing and third-person games with it. It works great with 'Mashed', 'LOTR Return of the King', 'Star Wars: Rogue Squadron', etc. It doesn't lose button functionality quickly through hard-core use. It is for right-handed users only but has a comfortable hand-rest for long game-play time. I've used it practically every day since I bought it and it still is working fine. You may need to clean the gunk 'round the buttons from dirt, grime, or dust ever-so-often but so far it hasn't given me any trouble. I would recommend this controller for beginner gamer's and experts alike. The buttons are in a comfortable formation and easy reach access, especially when trying to press two buttons at once.

I have owned two of these Joysticks, I have worn them both out. I have used the second one for over 100 hours before it became unusable from lack of response and accuracy.



First we will cover the good points.

-Nice looking Joystick.

-Very Ergonomic for Right-handed players.

-Buttons and Hat are well placed for short, quick movements.

-Throttle is smooth and precise, useful for chopper pilots.

-Stick movement is fairly precise and evenly tensioned in x, y and z axis. (Z Axis is the twist rudder).



Now the important bad points.

-Loses calibration after a short period of time. How much you use it, dictates how soon it loses its precision and accuracy. I noticed it on takeoffs playing Battlefield 2, I would start drifting to one side of the runway requiring some hard rudder to compensate and not crash.



-Button 2, on the thumb rest, stopped producing a sharp click feeling after a few weeks. Important for me, as I used it for dropping bombs/shooting missiles.



Summary: If it wasn't for this losing precision and accuracy issue, I would highly recommend this joystick. But let's face it, when you are on the other guy's six and you want to smoke him with the nose gun, you need a joystick that lets you put the bullets in his tailpipe for more than the first few weeks of use.



I am going to try a Saitek AV8R as a replacement . . .

This stick was purchased to use in a 4-H competition running Microsoft "Flight Simulator". It replaced a Logitech "Extreme" stick purchased several years ago for $60 and did not use USB ports. It performed more accurately, felt "tighter" and had better "feel" than the older one did when it was new. The kids love it and, of course, the AMAZON service made it a pleasure to purchase!
